Project: The Forest Centre

Client: Thames Chase Community Forest

Contract Value: £550,000

We created this new Visitor Centre in Thames Chase Community Forest, one of 12 Community partnerships that promote and facilitate the creation of new woodlands in urban fringe contexts across England.

Here at Thames Chase, over 40 square miles of land on the edge of London has been transformed from areas of farmland, landfill and horse-pasture to woodlands, meadows and marshes. Thames Chase Community Forest is literally growing in London’s Green Belt.

The new Centre lets millions of people who live in East London and South-west Essex know of this transformation and shows visitors how and why the Forest is being created and what benefits it offers to the public and general environment.
