Project: The Forest Centre
As part of the Forest Centre project, we restored the adjoining Broadfields Barn, a 17C structure built of elm beams and black weatherboarding. Repairs were carried out on the sole plates, posts and roof of the original structure. A new underfloor heating system, driven by a bio-mass boiler, was installed to heat the barn and new Forest Centre.
This building was inaccessible to the public but after restoration was opened up to visitors and now gets used for a wide range of activities thoughout the year.
